Honda Recalls

Honda Canada Inc. is reaching out to independent mechanical repair and collision repair facilities to further help identify vehicles with airbags which are subject to inflator recalls and to communicate this recall information to customers.

If an independent repair facility identifies a vehicle that may need to have a recalled airbag inflator serviced, Honda Canada Inc. is asking the repairer to advise its consumer about the need to service the airbag inflator and either: (1) refer them to a Honda or Acura dealer (as applicable) in order to have the airbag inflator(s) serviced; or (2) obtain the customer's permission to arrange the recall repair for them through a Honda or Acura dealership.

Collision repair facilities that need to replace a deployed airbag that has a recalled inflator should contact a Honda or Acura dealer (as applicable) to arrange the replacement by the dealership.

Please note that independent repairers can call Honda Canada at 1-877-445-7754, or can search a VIN on www.honda.ca/recalls or www.acura.ca/recalls to determine whether a particular vehicle is subject to an airbag inflator recall.

The driver's and/or passenger's front airbag inflators could produce excessive internal pressure upon deployment. Excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture (break apart) and deploy abnormally. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material possibly causing injury or fatality to vehicle occupants.

The purpose of this initiative is to help improve awareness regarding airbag inflator recalls and to make it easier for service writers and estimators to check each customer's car to see if it has an open recall. With your help, we can better promote the safety of our customers, friends and loved ones.
