Timing Belt

The timing belt controls the camshafts in your vehicle's engine which opens and closes valves at a precise moment for a smooth operation. This device has teeth which turn the camshaft in a constant timed motion with the crankshaft. The crankshaft converts linear energy into rotational energy which enables the wheels to drive forward.

What can go wrong?

If you don't inspect the timing belt periodically, it may break at an unfortunate moment. Since the timing belt keeps the components in the engine synchronized, the valves may open at the wrong time and then be struck by the pistons if the belt is compromised. This will result in major damage to your engine, causing hundreds of dollars in repairs.

What can you do?

If you hear any slapping or scraping sounds coming from your engine, the timing belt may be loose which needs to be serviced right away before serious damage can occur. Always follow the recommended service intervals provided by a technician or your owner's manual to avoid costly repairs.
